See you Thursday, October 5 at 7 pm for an exclusive meeting with Ms. Nielsen.

She will present her very latest novel: Lamento
- Translated from Danish by Jean-Baptiste Coursaud, from Éditions NOIR sur BLANC and finally in bookstores on September 7, 2023. Sale and signing of her book on site.

This presentation will be followed by a guitar performance by the artist.

Ms. Nielsen, novelist, artist, performer, composer, multi-gender singer, gives us a first-person account of what it was like to be married to the man she was.

Lamento is a story of wild infatuation.

A hypnotic lament about falling in love.

But to avoid remaining just a flash in the pan, how can we transform love at first sight into a lasting love, into a daily love?

Twenty years after the end of her marriage, a woman writes for her daughter the love story of which she is the fruit, and addresses her Lamento, the sublime lament of a desire which refuses domestication, with a stroke of lightning too steeped in absolutes to resist the disappointments of time.

We read this novel in a trance-like state and forget the world around us for a few hours. The transformation of love has rarely been described so mercilessly brutal and at the same time so lyrically beautiful as in Lamento.

A pioneer of performative biography and Scandinavian autofiction, she leads us, in her sublime Lamento, with the absoluteness and audacity that characterize her, into an openly lying game with reality by imagining what it was like to to be married to the man she was.

Born under the name Claus Beck-Nielsen in 1963 in Aarhus, Denmark, she died under that identity in 2001, and organized her funeral, only to be reborn as Madame Nielsen in 2013. She was nominated three times for the Nordic Council Literature Prize, his literary work has been translated into nine languages.

Other publication by the author: L’Été infini (Notabilia, 2017)

Evening organized in collaboration with Éditions NOIR sur BLANC.
